Our Sustainability Report
Our Sustainability Report How we live and implement sustainability
Since 2008 we have voluntarily participated in the United Nations Global Compact, which was concluded between companies and the United Nations. Since then, we have presented our Report "Communication on Progress", which can be seen on the UN Global Compact page.
Until 2022, the participating companies in the UNGC were free to choose how they published their report. In our progress reports, we have always described in a way that is easy for customers to understand what VS has to show on topics such as employees and training, production and products, but also on charitable projects. The importance of sustainability reporting is growing. As a result, the reporting requirements for companies are also changing dramatically. Starting in 2023, all UNGC members will have to answer 85 questions in the areas of governance, human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption on the Global Compact platform. The answers will be activated after review.
Sustainability Report in accordance with CSRD
The voluntary efforts of the more than 10,000 global participants in the UNGC and numerous other environmental protection organisations were not enough to achieve the 1.5° target set by the 2015 Paris climate summit. That is why annual sustainability reports are now becoming mandatory under the Corporate Social Responsibility Directive (CSRD).
From 2024, this already applied to listed companies, from 2025 to all other large companies – including VS – and from 2026 to further small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Thanks to the many years of experience we have gained from voluntarily preparing the UNGC progress reports, we are also well prepared for reporting under CSRD. In addition, we will remain a member of the UN Global Compact and will also report on its platform.
